Editorial
Dear Readers,
Assalamu alaikum. I hope you are well, by the mercy of Allah.
The issue of the youth wave will find you in good psycho-physical health and ready for fasting in Ramadan, which is going to start in mid-March. The month of fasting teaches Muslims austerity and purity of body, mind, and soul. Austerities of life free from all sorts of forbidden things and foods during the Ramadan prepare Muslims as sensible souls. Muslims end up being not only sympathetic to the poor but also empathetic. The first man on the planet, and also the first prophet Adam (Peace Be Upon Him), was created and sent, teaching everything, including the long list of good foods that are beneficial for human health. He was also warned against harmful foods, including forbidden fruit. But throughout history, humans have forgotten about the list of health-friendly and halal foods. Different communities started eating forbidden or harmful foods and meats. In some parts of the world, people ate pigs, cats, dogs, and even small insects. Out of ignorance, a large number of people ate the meat of carnivores who have fangs, paws, and claws. But with extensive research on harmful foods, non-Muslims have started to realize the psycho-physical impacts of eating dog meat, cat meat, pork, and insects. Some of them, like Koreans and Chinese people, have started to avoid eating dog and cat meat, which Islam had forbidden over 1400 years ago. Better late than never. For this reason, we have chosen the idea for the cover story of the issue. I hope you will like it, and we will come back to you with another issue.
