In the wake of the rising number of earthquakes, rebuilding of quake-ravaged cities has become a big issue for incumbent governments across the world. The damage due to tremors has posed challenges for the authorities and also exposed the corruptions of builders, corporates, realtors, governments staffers in the countries where quake wrecked a havoc, causing a great loss to lives and properties. To check earthquake’s spree of damaging cities, experts in Bangladesh have been batting for constructing strong building or at least give the already-constructed building a retrofitting. Every retrofitting will cost at least Tk 3 to Tk 4 lakh. That’s why, we are running a story on rebuilding but the story lacks sufficient data.
