Dear subscribers
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah. Hope the issue will find you well in October when the issue of Youth Wave will reach your doorstep. Former US President Woodrow Wilson visited Europe in 1918 and he was the first incumbent head of state to do the job in the aftermath of World War I. Global exposure of the US started when the last nail on the coffin of the Ottoman empire was hammered. In Europe powers including Britain and France emerged and dominated the world, colonising different parts of Asia and Africa. Vast swathes of Ottoman land were occupied by these European powers. To emerge as a clear superpower on the world stage, the US had to wait until 1945 when World War II finished with Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuked as Japan allied with Germany and Italy. The US flew high in the shoes of global police. It intervened in many countries including Vietnam, Iraq, Somalia, former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and many more. Many of the interventions smacked of utter mismanagement and ended up in injudicious bombardment of vast swathes of land, killing innocent people in their lakhs across the world. The US power as a global leader has started declining.
The insightful story will make you curious to know about the causes of the fall of an empire so that you fresh bloods can give rise to a new civilisation which will replace the current world order.
Hope to return to you next month.
