The Essence of the Holy Qur’an
The month of training and blessings
Believers, fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoyed upon those before you, that you become God-fearing.
(Surah No. 02, Al-Baqarah, Verse No. 183)
The month of spiritual development
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, holds significant importance for Muslim individuals and communities. It serves as a time of unity and connection within the Muslim Ummah, transcending disputes and differences. During this month, individuals focus on nurturing their inner selves, fostering spiritual growth, and strengthening social bonds within their communities. Islam encourages believers to prioritize spiritual and moral advancement during this sacred period.
Ramadhan is especially linked with the Qur’an
The month of Ramadan holds a special connection to the revelation of the Qur’an. It is the Qur’an’s revelation that elevates this month to a position of great significance and reverence. Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an: During the month of Ramadhan, the Qur’an was sent down as guidance to the people with clear signs of true guidance and as the criterion. (2:185)
The month of acquiring knowledge
The Qur’an serves as the ultimate source of knowledge for the Muslim community, revealed during this auspicious month. Knowledge is the foundation of faith, and Islam emphasizes the importance of education in practicing the faith effectively. Therefore, let us seize the opportunity of the holy month of Ramadan to deepen our understanding of the Qur’an and Sunnah, enriching our fasting experience. Allah provides guidance through the Qur’an during Ramadan, and it is incumbent upon the Muslim community to heed this instruction and grow spiritually.
