Editorial
Dear readers
Assalamu alaikum. Hope you are keeping well in this time of conflicts like Russia-Ukraine, Syria wars which are affecting the whole world. In 1996 Samuel P Huntington predicted future possible wars would be clashes of civilizations but on the ground they are not. Rather these two ongoing clashes are intra-civilizational not inter-civilizational. In the Russia-Ukraine war, Christians are clashing with Christians while Arabs are fighting against fellow Muslims in Syria and Yemen. They can also be called proxy wars between two superpowers — US and Russia in Europe and regional powers like Saudi Arabia and Iran in the Middle East. Huntington made the projection in hiatus between WWII and Russia-Ukraine wars that’s why writing became exaggerated fiction. Now with the Russian aggression in Ukraine, war has re-entered Europe after 75 years. We have made into the cover story of the issue as the writer has looked back to the thesis that people’s cultural and religious identities will be the primary source of conflicts in the post cold war which began after World War II.
Hope you will like the story and we will return to you with other issues.
