Gaza a graveyard for children -Abu Muaj

Incubators of newborn babies bombed, Intensive Care Units targeted, children buried under rubbles, hospitals hacked, war on infirmaries unleashed, ambulances riddled with IDF bullets, cradles caved in, buildings bulldozed, wedding ceremony turns into funeral, mosque domes demolished, helpless mass people face massacre in total mess and darkness – that is what Gaza now. Unthinkable catastrophe is unfolding before the whole world which is merely doing the dead reckoning. Deaths are merely numbers. Death of an Israeli is a tragedy but a million deaths of Palestinians are a statistic – seemingly grisly situation of Gaza echoes a quote of Joseph Stalin.

How can babies in womb, newborns, children playing with toys, cancer patients, birthday boys and girls can pose a threat to one of the most sophisticated armies in the world.

In over one year, Russian soldiers killed 500 Ukrainian children and the murder is termed by the West as war crime. But diametrically 4324 children in over four weeks and the same western civilization particularly the US is funneling fund to Israel which is committing the war crime under the pretext of self defence. Fifty-two massacres have been committed since 1948. The latest massacre killed 11,000 and left 25000 injured.

Srebrenica moment in Gaza

It may be remembered that after the gruesome genocide of 7000 people and evicted 20,000 people from Srebrenica prompting NATO to bombard the strongholds of Serbs and deterred them from committing further war crime against Bosnians in between 11-16th July in 1995.

The number of UN officials killed by Israel is unprecedented in the history of the organization, said UN Secretary General Anthony Guteress.

Michael Moore, director of Fahrenheit 9/11, said, “We need to stop the slaughter”.

British policy of deceit is delivering as per a design and death plus destruction is plaguing Palestinian lands – Occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. When British King Charles is saying sorry to the Kenyans for their wrongdoings, Gaza and West Bank are bleeding and burning at the hands of the occupation forces due to deceitful policy of the British rulers. British monarch should have said sorry to the Palestinians as the issue is pricking the conscience of every sensible and civilized people of the world.

Around 192 health workers have been killed in Israeli attacks, twenty- five ambulances were targeted as 16 out of 35 hospitals in Gaza Strip, which had been languishing under Israeli land, air and water blockade for long 17 years, went out of use as medical supplies were weaponized. Five hospitals were targeted in 24 hours on 11/11/2023. The Al Shifa hospital sustained five attacks in 24 on 11th November. The lone cancer hospital has come to halt which may otherwise be translated into death sentences for cancer patients.

Former UN official Craig Mokhibar resigned recently as director of the New York office of High Commissioner for Human Rights, citing the successive waves of murder and persecution against the Palestinians. He accused the US, the UK and France of being complicit in the genocide unfolding in Gaza. He also said it is textbook example of war crimes in his resignation letter. International community failed to stop the war crime of the IDF.

UN Secretary General Antony Guterres said Gaza has turned into a graveyard for children. Girls and boys, several dozen UNRWA schools are turned into junkyards. IDF hits a century when it comes to the question of killing UN staffers despite international calls resonating the globe.

One child is being killed and one injured every 10 minutes, according to the United Nations. The number of children killed in Gaza and Occupied West Bank combined in three weeks crosses the total number of children killed since 2019.

Some children are issued death certificates before their births were registered as IDF bombed their Jabalia Refugee Camp. In some cases, the bombing-happy IDF is putting a break on the birth rate of Gaza women. Children are experiencing death before they see life. As many as 50 thousand pregnant women, who are already traumatized by war crimes, may have to receive similar birth certificates after the death certificates. Babies are dying in incubators. Ahli Al Arab Baptist Hospital was bombarded, killing hundreds of people.

Ironies
The ‘promised land’ packaged in the foil pack of religion is the greatest irony of Jewish fate. Jewish aspiration to repopulate with them by depopulating the Palestinians, give life to Zions by killing Palestinians, promising heaven to Zions by promising hell to Palestinians, settling the Zions by unsettling the Palestinians – are all ironies.  Their aim is to bombard Gaza indiscriminately and bring back the hostages held there alive and the aim is an irony. Zionist dream to uproot Hamas which is a sociopolitical and military organization in Palestine, is another irony. Many Israeli officials openly declared that they will increase the bombardment to turn Gaza Strip into a city of tents so that they can be toyed with the way they like. They least care about precision in attacks and civilian casualty because the murderous map viz Israel doesn’t believe in mapping the minds of the people who have been facing their ethnic cleansing, thanks to the carte blanche of US, UK, France enjoyed by Israel.

Amnesty International urged immediate war crime investigation against Israel which is decolonizing and displacing the entire population of Gaza Strip. These people are not even allowed to live in refugee camp where they took shelter after they had been evicted from their ancestral home, land and properties in 1948, said Michael Lynk, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Western University in London, Ontario.

Not all the Jews believe in the concocted narrative of ‘promised land’. How can a ‘democratic country’ like Israel kill civilians indiscriminately and destroy buildings of innocent people, deter dissemination of information, cut off internet connection and weaponise food, drink, fuel and medicine.

Record number of journalists killed
One journalist is dying every day in Gaza as CPJ reports 40 journalists had been killed since October 7 by Israel Defence Force, which earlier killed Al Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Akleh and a Reuters journalist. Journalist Wael Al Dahdouh’s wife, seven-year-old daughter, 15-year-old son and grandson Adam became the cannon fodder. IDF also bombarded AP and Al Jazeera offices.
In the first six days inside the Gaza war starting on October 7, Israel dropped six thousand bombs but by October 28 the amount of bomb has touched the record of Hiroshima bombardment. The same amount of bombs was dropped in Syrian city Ar Raqqah against ISIS and on Taliban in Afghanistan in one year. There is hardly any wedding except a plethora of funerals. Funerals and funerals only what Gaza is now. Childhood is scarred by war, fear and trauma. Toys of Palestinian toddlers are strewn around their pummeled houses. Israeli companies are not serving birthday cakes; rather the IDF is dishing out 3 tonnes of explosives to kill one Palestinian. Many dreams are being shattered.

Golden past of Jewish-Muslim coexistence
What a glorious and peaceful coexistence Jews of Muslim Spain and Ottomans in Muslim Greece. Israel could have been established in Muslim Thessaloniki, which was inhabited by 64 per cent Jews who gathered in the Thessaloniki, now in Greece, from all over the world during the golden period of Jewish-Muslim camaraderie. But an irony of fate is descendants of those Jewish community, which was mollycoddled by the Ottomans for hundreds of years before and after the Alhambra Decree in Iberian Peninsula in 1492, are now engaged in killing the Gazans.

Nothing is off-limits when it comes to the question of killing and bombing the unarmed civilians whose ancestors helped the Jews against Christian persecution.

The scorched earth policy of Israel has already reduced almost half of the buildings in Gaza to rubbles. Western powers stand by and stand back Israel which enjoyed carte blanche in waging five wars in Gaza and 20 in the region. High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission Joseph Borrell Fontelles said overreaction on the part of Israel will backfire. There is no military solution to this problem and this disproportionate killing of Palestinians will further jeopardise the Jewish state’s security. Self defence can’t justify collective punishment inflicted upon the residents of Gaza. European Union, which is popularly called a peace project, failed to call for a ceasefire. The western narrative calls Israel a democracy guided by humanitarian policy what the Arabs are totally opposed to. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan doesn’t see Hamas as a terrorist rather he thinks the organization is on rescue mission of Palestinians whose lands are occupied, independence snatched and are totally dehumanized and humiliated. Hamas, with ever piling up grievances of 75 years, has launched a freedom fighting against occupiers.

Barack Obama condemned the attack on Gaza, citing occupation of Palestinian land for years. He also castigated the killing of Israelis by Hamas.

Calls of ceasefire fall on deaf ear
People, professionals, students across the planet have organized protest marches from Japan to Chile and Indonesia to South Africa, calling for a ceasefire to get hold of genocidal Israel from killing more and more Palestinians. But all the efforts go in vain as the USA panders to the predator Israel which is now revising down its death toll from the October 7 attack by Hamas. Protesters are comparing the killing of Gazans with those of Nazis.

The wars didn’t bring good and peace to Israel. Let the guns go silent. Sending weapons means aiding war crime and many experts talked about the complicity in killing as a war crime. Hamas, not the ‘timid’ Mahmoud Abbas’s office, is the face of Palestinian aspiration of independence. That’s why the US is managing the genocide in Palestine and with bayonet and green buck from the US, Israel launched 20 wars in this region. Aggression, confiscation of ancestral properties, war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide — are all signature feature of Israeli apartheid. Brutality, eviction, occupation etc for 75 years gave volcanic eruption of the collective and pent up feeling of anger. Israel has weaponised food, water, medicine, fuel etc and the weaponisation of such lifesaving materials is tantamount to war crime. Even Red Cross warehouse and bakeries were attacked as food and drinks are weaponised.

Reactions
Several countries and organisations including Libya, South Africa, Turkey recalled their ambassadors from Israel in protest against war crimes in Gaza.

Spain and Belgium called for slapping sanctions on Israel. Bolivia, out of bravery and trendsetting, has severed ties with Israel as it is continuing with crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina castigated the Israeli occupation. Mexico and Chile announced the withdrawal of their ambassadors to Israel. Colombia says if Israel continues to commit crimes against humanity it can’t stay there.

Human Rights Watch has urged a war crimes investigation. Jordan recalled its ambassador to Israel and in retaliation the Israeli ambassador also returned. G-7 called for a humanitarian pause in the war on Gaza but it failed to condemn Israeli killing of over 11 thousand people mostly children and women.

Despite all these calls from different countries, groups and agencies for saving the children of Gaza, the US goes on pandering Israel – its own project which has gone rogue.
