In the light of the Holy Hadith
The Beauty of Islam
Ali bin Hussain (RAA) reported that the Messenger of Allah said: Of the beauty of Islam of a man is giving up of what does not concern him. (Malek, Ahmad, Tirmizi & Ibn Mazah)
Avoid Unnecessary Pursuits
A sincere Muslim understands the importance of living a balanced life. He strives to earn only what is necessary to meet the needs of himself and his family in terms of food, clothing, and shelter. Chasing excessive wealth or indulging in materialistic pursuits hardens the heart—just as thick clouds can darken the sky. Islam teaches moderation in all things—whether in wealth, speech, or action—because excess takes us away from the beauty of faith.
If this principle of moderation were widely practiced, much of the greed, quarrels, and disputes in society would come to an end. Engaging in idle talk, gossip, or storytelling that serves no purpose also falls under unnecessary acts. The highest level of submission is to refrain from what is not needed—this is a sign of true spiritual discipline.
Use Your Tongue Wisely
The ability to speak is a remarkable gift from Allah. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Allah’s mercy is vast, and among His countless blessings is the tongue, which He has given us to communicate and express ourselves.”
However, with this gift comes responsibility. We speak countless words every day, but do we reflect on whether our words are truthful and beneficial? Mistakes are human, but covering them with lies is wrong. Truthfulness is a hallmark of a believer.
