World Wonders to WOW you -Md Sazzadul Islam
Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the stars? Or beneath the deepest ocean? What if I told you that the world we see is only a small part of what actually exists? There are strange, mysterious, and wonderful things all around us—some hidden in plain sight, and others known only to Allah, the Creator of all things. So, fasten your seatbelts, young adventurers! We’re about to dive into the wonders of our strange world.
The Sky That Speaks
Did you know that the sky is not just a vast emptiness? It is full of wonders that even the greatest scientists are still discovering! In the Quran, Allah says:
“And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars…” (Surah Al-Mulk 67:5)
Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? They are magical lights dancing in the sky, mostly seen in places like Norway and Canada. The lights are caused by solar particles hitting Earth’s atmosphere, but doesn’t it feel like the sky is whispering secrets? Some people even hear strange whistling sounds when they see them!
And what about the mysterious ‘red sprite’ flashes? These sudden red lights appear above thunderstorms and disappear within milliseconds. Scientists only captured their images a few decades ago, but they have existed since the beginning of time!
The Ocean’s Hidden Cities
If you think the sky is full of secrets, wait till you hear about the ocean! More than 80% of the ocean is unexplored. What if there are hidden cities deep underwater? In the Quran, Allah speaks about the two seas, one salty and one sweet, which do not mix:
“He released the two seas, meeting side by side. Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses.” (Surah Ar-Rahman 55:19-20)
One of the strangest places in the ocean is the ‘Underwater Waterfall’ in Mauritius. Yes, you read that right! It looks like a waterfall beneath the ocean, but it’s actually an illusion created by sand and underwater currents.
Then there’s the Mariana Trench, the deepest place in the ocean, deeper than Mount Everest is tall! Scientists have found creatures that glow in the dark, fish that look like aliens, and even strange sounds coming from the deep. Could it be that Allah has created creatures we have never seen, living in places we can never reach?
Mountains That Grow and Whisper
Did you know that some mountains grow taller every year? The Himalayas, for example, are growing by about 5 millimeters every year because of the Earth’s movements! Allah created mountains as pegs to keep the Earth stable:
“And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them…” (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:31)
But wait, mountains don’t just stand still—they make noises too! There is a mountain in Death Valley, USA, that ‘sings’ when the wind passes through it. Scientists believe it is because of the shape of the rocks, but who knows? Maybe the mountains praise Allah in ways we cannot hear.
The Floating Stones and Gravity-Defying Places
Have you ever seen a rock float in the air? In the city of Hampi, India, there is a rock called the ‘Levitating Stone’ that stays balanced on another rock at a strange angle, as if defying gravity. Then, in Medina, Saudi Arabia, there is a stone called the ‘Flying Rock of Jerusalem’ that, according to old stories, was said to have lifted off the ground when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ascended to the heavens during Isra and Miraj. Some believe it still hovers slightly above the earth!
Another place is ‘Magnetic Hill’ in Ladakh, where cars seem to roll uphill on their own. Scientists say it’s an optical illusion, but isn’t it amazing how Allah has placed so many mysteries in this world?
Mysterious Sounds from the Earth
Imagine standing in the middle of a desert, and suddenly, you hear a deep humming sound. No one is playing music, no animals are nearby—just the endless sand, and yet, the Earth is singing! There is a strange sound called the ‘Hum’ that has been heard in different parts of the world, from the UK to Canada to New Zealand. Some scientists believe it is caused by waves deep inside the Earth, while others think it may have something to do with underground volcanic activity.
Then there is the ‘Whistle of the Sahara.’ In the middle of the Sahara Desert, sand dunes create eerie whistling sounds as the wind blows over them. Some travelers say it sounds like the Earth is speaking!
The World of Jinn: Unseen, But Among Us!
Now, let’s talk about something truly mysterious: the world of the Jinn. Allah tells us in the Quran that He created the Jinn from smokeless fire:
“And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.” (Surah Ar-Rahman 55:15)
Jinn can see us, but we cannot see them. They live in places like old ruins, deep forests, and even in our homes if we don’t say ‘Bismillah’ when entering! Have you ever felt like someone was watching you, but no one was there? Maybe it was just your imagination… or maybe not!
There have been countless stories of strange happenings—footsteps in empty rooms, objects moving on their own, and voices whispering in the wind. But don’t be scared! Not all Jinn are bad; some are even Muslims who worship Allah just like us.
The Lesson of Our Strange World
As we end our journey through the strange and wonderful world we live in, remember that Allah’s creation is vast and full of mysteries. Science explains many things, but there are still secrets only Allah knows. Every star in the sky, every creature in the deep sea, and every strange sound in the desert is a sign of His greatness.
So, dear young explorers, keep wondering, keep questioning, and keep seeking knowledge! Because the more you explore, the more you will realize how incredible our world is and how powerful Allah, the Creator of all things, truly is.
Happy exploring, and may Allah bless you with curiosity and wisdom!
