Dear Readers Assalamu Alaikum
We are human beings, and the supreme creation of Allah. Allah the Almighty has bestowed us some special blessings, which made us different from other creations. Our tongues and hands are among them.
Here the misuse of the hands and tongue has been specially mentioned, for the reason that, generally, distress is caused to others by means of two organs. We have to remember that it is unworthy of a Muslim to be a source of pain and discomfort to anyone. Rather, s/he should be brotherly, friendly and inoffensive as well as harmless towards everybody.
We know that when one consciously declares one’s faith in Allah and acts upon it, only then s/he can be a Muslim. But that alone is not enough. To be a good Muslim, has to lead a life of peace, progress and prosperity. So, others have to be safe from a Muslim’s tongue and hands. In another Hadith related by Abdullah bin Masud that the Prophet (S.A.W) said: A true believer never indulges in taunting and cursing. The Holy Prophet also said: Allah is gentle, likes gentleness and gives for gentleness what He does not give for harshness.
At this point one thing is mentionable that we cannot express our views and ideas without tongue. So our tongues are a special gift offered by Allah. We also know that on the Day of Judgment Allah will seal up our tongues. So we will not be allowed to speak using our tongues. According to Allah’s command our hands will speak on that Day. So, if we use our tongues correctly and properly then our hands will speak in favor of us, and if we use our tongues roughly then of course our hands will speak against us in the court of Allah. Therefore, we pray to Almighty Allah to help us to use our tongue and hands the way He wants so that we achieve His pleasure on the Day of that matter most.
