The condition of the present world in the light of Hadith
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) has said: “the world is a prison for the believer but a paradise for the disbeliever. (Muslim)
Life after death is distant and hidden:
Dear brothers and sisters, the word dunya means ‘to be near; to come close; to bring close this life, it also means the nearest, lowest in value, the life of this world as opposed to the life after death. The world dunya appears in the gracious Qur’an 115 times. Dunya is so called because it is the nearest life that comes before the life to come after death. This worldly life is more immediate and visible, while life after death is distant and hidden. The life of the present world is uncertain; however the life after death is certain. It is related with death, which is certain. No body can deny the death. No body can take the challenge to deny the death. Therefore, it is universally truth and accepted that each and every life shall taste death. And only on the Day of resurrection our wages will be given in full. Whoever, is removed away from the fire and admitted to paradise, he/she indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception.
The present world is a place of transition:
This world is nothing but a prison for the believers. They only move towards desire within the limits imposed on them by faith. They do not covet any luxury without being in check by awareness of Allah and the desire to please Him. They know very well that when their time comes they will find more with their Lord in the hereafter than they could ever have imagined. The believers also know that human existence is a journey and this worldly life is nothing but a very short stage on much greater journey. It is a place of transition in which the traveler stops to take shade and to rest for a while during the journey.
