Math Olympiad Grand Finale in Rajshahi

The grand finale of Inter School Math Olympiad organized by YOUTHWAVE Student Society (YWSS), Rajshahi City held on 9th March, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Master Chef Restaurant. The final round of the exam started from 9:15 a.m. after the instructions delivered by the Chief Judge Md. Hedayetul Islam and ended at 10:30 a.m. with its 29 contestants from three groups, viz. Group A (Class vi-viii), Group B (Class ix-O’Levels), and Group C (A’Levels). After the exam the contestants, guardians and guests were entertained by a mid-morning snack.

The prize giving ceremony started at 11:00 a.m. with the recitation from the Holy Scripture Al-Quran by Asadullah. The secretary of YWSS, Rajshahi City Abdullah Al Mamun requested the president Ali Azim Muhammad Nasim to take seat with the valued guests on stage and offered him to introduce and conduct the session. The president of Rajshahi City inaugurated the program through warm welcome and thanks to the contestants, guardians, teachers, guests and the Math Olympiad committee from scholarajam.com, the Central Advisors and all the responsibles of YWSS to participate in the program. In his maiden speech he remembers the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our mother tongue and for the independence of our country. The Special Guest Dr. Shamim Ahmad, Associate Professor, Rajshahi University and the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Md. Shamim Akhter, Dean Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, RUET addressed their valuable speeches before the audience thanking YWSS, Rajshahi City to take the innitiative and the necessity of such a forum in this society considering the social context of our country. Finally, the Chair of the program the Central President of YWSS Moniruzzaman Monir delivered his speech focusing on the implications of YWSS. At the end part of the program the crests of honor were presented to the honorable guests. Also the Principals of the schools were awarded by honorary crests. At last, Chief Judge announced the names of First, Second and Third award winners from group A, B and C to receive their medals and prizes from the respected guests. In group ‘A’ Ahnaf Islam Naf, Md. Samen Yasar, and Sajia Sabrin Sama from Paramount School, in group ‘B’ Amina Hasan, and Mohammad Shahrear-Bin-Zaman from Paramount School and Atanu Roy Chowdhury from North Point School, And in group ‘C’ Sabit Bin Kabir, Faria Tasnim Samsi and Anik Farhan Shahriyar from Paramount School acquired 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively.  The audiences and guests showed their great happyness with the award winners that brought delight in the minds of the organizers.
