Start your morning before dawn -Md Mahmudur Rahman
Before the sun rises, the world is quiet. The sky is dark blue, the air feels fresh, and everything seems peaceful. This time before dawn is special. It is not only beautiful but also powerful for your body, mind, and heart. Both scientists and Islamic teachings tell us that waking up early can help children grow smarter, healthier, and more disciplined.
In Islam, the time before dawn is called Fajr. Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And establish prayer at the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night and the Qur’an at dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:78)
This means that the time before dawn is blessed and full of goodness.
Science also agrees. Early mornings are the best time for learning. After a good night’s sleep, your brain is fresh, your memory works better, and you can focus more easily. Children who wake up early often understand lessons faster and feel more confident in school. Your body also becomes healthier. Waking up early keeps your internal clock balanced, helps digestion, strengthens immunity, and gives you more energy. The morning sunlight even helps your body produce vitamin D, which makes your bones strong and keeps your mood happy.
Early mornings are also calm and quiet. Less noise means less stress. Children who start their day calmly are more patient and less likely to feel angry or anxious.
Islam encourages waking up early, not only for success in this life but also for success in the Hereafter. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Whoever prays Fajr is under the protection of Allah.” (Sahih Muslim)
Waking up for Fajr teaches discipline, responsibility, and love for Allah. After prayer, the mind is peaceful, and the heart is open. This is the best time to recite Qur’an, make dua, and thank Allah for a new day.
Children who wake up early often develop habits that stay with them for life. They learn to manage time, practice self-control, and stay active even when others are still sleeping. Many great Muslims in history, including scholars and leaders, used early mornings to study, think, and worship.
You don’t need to do everything at once. Go to bed a little earlier, wake up gently before dawn, pray Fajr, sit quietly for a few minutes, and prepare for your day. Even small steps can make a big difference.
When you wake up before dawn, you are already ahead. You feel fresh while others are still tired, and your mind is ready while the world is still quiet. Islam and science both show that early mornings are a hidden gift, making children stronger, wiser, and closer to Allah.
Waking up before dawn is more than a habit, it is a way to become the best version of yourself. Start tomorrow. Sleep early tonight. Wake up with a smile. A peaceful morning can lead to a bright and powerful life.
Strong mornings build strong futures.
