Editorial
Dear Readers,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah.
Hope you are staying fit and waiting for Eid-ul-Azha, when most probably the highest number of people in the world can taste quality protein. On the days of Eid Al-Azha, millions of animals are sacrificed for the sake of Allah, and meats are distributed among the millions who can’t afford beef or mutton. The United Nations can grasp the opportunity to provide protein to the poorest people on the planet. It can declare an international day with the slogan ‘Protein for the Poor’. Protein for the poor should be a ringing call all over the world. Though it may sound impossible to provide every poor person with the necessary regimen of protein throughout the year, as a minimum, we can observe a UN day across the planet with programs marking the day. To ensure the supply of meat to the poorest sections of the world, at least for a single day, a range of awareness campaigns can be launched. If it is not possible, there should be seminars and symposiums on this ‘World Day of Protein for the Poor’ in the UN member countries ceremoniously. Keeping the idea in mind, we repeatedly urge the UN to declare Eid-ul-Adha as World Protein Day and make it the cover story of this issue.
Hope you will like the article and join the call.
