In the light of the Holy Hadith
Al-Qur’an made its followers lucky and fortunate
The usefulness of the Qur’an : We are Muslims. Today, we are the only people in the world lucky and fortunate enough to possess the Qur’an preserved in its original form, free from any changes and distortions. It has remained unchanged, even to a dot, for about fourteen hundred and fifty years. The Qur’an was sent to Muhammad SAW for us to read it, understand it, act upon it, and with its help, establish the rule of Allah’s law on earth. The Qur’an came to us to give us dignity and power. It came to make us true vicegerents of Allah on earth. Additionally, history shows us that whenever we acted according to its guidance, it did make us the leaders of the world. Moreover, the subject matter of the Qur’an is man and his ultimate goal. So, let us know some Ahadith of the Prophet SAW about the Qur’an.
Believer and hypocrite in the light of Hadith : Abu Musa (R.A.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “The example of a believer who reads the Qur’an is like a citrus fruit whose smell is nice and taste is good. The example of a believer who does not read the Qur’an is like a fresh date which has no scent but whose taste is still sweet. The example of the hypocrite who reads the Qur’an is like a fragrant flower, which has a nice smell but whose taste is terrible. The example of a hypocrite who does not read the Qur’an is like a basil leaf which has no smell and whose taste is bitter.”
Al-Qur’an raises some people up and brings down others : Aisha (R.A.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “A person who has expert knowledge of the Qur’an will be with the honorable writers (Angels) and the one who reads the Qur’an and struggles with it in difficulty will get twice the reward.” (Bukhari & Muslim) Umar ibn al-Khattab (R.A.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah said, “Allah will raise some people up with this book and bring down others” (Muslim) Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Among the Prophets, there was none who had no miracles because of which people had security or had belief, but what I have been given is the Divine Revelation which Allah has revealed to me. So I hope that my followers will be more than those of any other Prophet on the Day of Resurrection.” (Bukhari)
