In the light of the Holy Hadith

Mercy to the weak members of society
Jareer ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to the people.”
[Sahih Bukhari – 6941]

Dear brothers and sisters,
In Islam, mercy encompasses this world and the Hereafter, as well as humankind, animals, birds and the surrounding habitats. Allah has made his sending forth of the Prophet as a mercy to all of creation, as He Says “We have not sent you (O Muhammad) except as a mercy to the worlds.” [Quran 21:107]. The Prophet (pbuh) commanded people to sponsor orphans and look after them. “A person who takes care of an orphan and I will be like this in Paradise,” he once said, joining his forefinger and middle finger together by way of illustration. [Bukhari]
The Prophet (pbuh) once kissed his grandson Hassan, while Aqra ibn Haabis (R) was in his presence. So Aqra (R) said to him: “Do you kiss your children? I swear by Allah, I have ten children but I have never kissed anyone of them!” Thereupon, the Prophet said: “Whoever is not merciful will not be treated mercifully.” [Muslim]. The Prophet considered a person who looks after a widow or a poor person just like a warrior who fights for Allah’s cause, or like one who performs prayers all night without slackness and fasts continuously and never breaks his fast. He regarded showing kindness to the weak members of society and giving them their rights a strong reason to gain Allah’s victory over the enemy as well as gaining more means of subsistence: “Seek help among your weak ones, for you are given provision and help only because of the weak amongst you.”[Abu Daawood]
A Muslim begins his action by saying ‘Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem’ (in the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Giver of Mercy) so that Allah can bless him in his action. Every action that is devoid of mercy has no blessing in it, nor does it have any good. If the servants of Allah show mercy towards one another, this is a cause for Allah sending His mercy down on them.
