Editorial
Dear readers
In society some play normal roles that define our lives while others play deviant or stigmatic roles — in other words, some are good and some are bad. Bad people in the society or bad regimes in the world destroy the fabric of the society or country. Some destroy social, democratic, educational, legal, religious, cultural institutions while some, being aggrieved by the culture of destruction, start mending or fixing the problems of our societies or countries across the planet. The bad people or states in deviant or stigmatic roles even damage the climate, forcing it to change. The good people turn into reformers or entrepreneurs or environmentalists. Those who plan to fix moral degradations end up being moral entrepreneurs and those who work to safeguard the lush green look of the planet are labelled as climate crusaders or environmentalists. The whole world now feels the pinch of climate change, and so does the Nobel Prize Committee. Hedonists, revelers, party animals, consumerists are being hell-bent day by day on passing their time just eating, drinking and merrymaking. Easy jets, cars, 99 per cent money at the hands of the one per cent etc are contributing to climate change, stoking up the temperature of the world. So good research firms, scientists, academies or universities are coming up in response to the call of the environmentalists and crusade against climate change. And a section of good media was always with environmentalists. So we have selected to cover the issues of climate change and media muzzling which dominated this year’s Nobel Committee decisions. Hope you will like the cover story and we will meet you next month inshaallah.
