Editorial
Dear readers
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah. Hope you are keeping well and none of our thousands of readers and Youth Wave family members haven’t thought of curving a sculpture of your own so that your ideas echo through the ages. Nor they are earmarking a lion share of his income, depriving their wives and children of their education and sustenance. As a natural course of history, a section of people grows rich and buy properties while another section loses their quality, connectivity and sells out property. One sells and loses while other buys and gains. As wealth tends to be accumulated and money begets money on the one hand while on the other vicious cycle of poverty persists side by side. It assumes that people of less developed countries save little or nothing since they are poor. Since savings are low, investment is low. So the governments levy direct tax, VAT, land rent, duty, customs, fine etc and Islam inspires its followers to give jakat, sadkatul fitre, oshr, kharaz, kaffara for missing fasting and prayers all aim at giving services to the citizens in return and alleviating poverty along with stopping concentration of wealth. People’s welfare always lies one of the greatest concerns of a government particularly of a welfare state. Any sort of extravaganza or waste of wealth may hamper the poverty alleviation programme. So we covered it as the lead story. Hope you will like the story.
Wish to return to you next month.
