Dear readers
Hope you are keeping well and none of our thousands of readers and Youth Wave family members contracted coronavirus or Covid-19. No one is insured against this disease and nothing will be the same as it was before the pandemic that started in Chinese city Wuhan on 31st December. The world has seen the trail of devastation due to deadly virus. People are continuously guessing what is going to happen to the world as the rich and poor alike are in great danger. Any worldwide danger worries people of the world, particularly the sensible one. Just one hundred years ago from today after World War I, the sensible mind like WB Yeats published a poem when the world was dealing with the aftermath of WWI. The title of the poem ‘Second Coming’ encompasses Christian, Islamic, and Baha’i beliefs regarding the return of Jesus— which is one of the important of the events that will take place before the Apocalypse or Qiamat. Many signs of Qiamat are discussed in the Holy Quran and Holy Hadith apart from scriptures of other Abrahamic religions like Christianity and Judaism.
But we are like the people and eschatologists tried to guess what is shape the world is going to have. We thought automation and artificial intelligence, riding on the back of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), will replace most of the human jobs. Wealth will be concentrated in the hands of a capitalist few who have accumulated most of the wealth of the world already and will buy automation technology and artificial intelligence. Professionals will be rendered jobless though a small hand few will be retrained to run the automatic machines. There will be a recession of professionalism too as there will be less or no work for human professionals. Jobless people will either end up in the streets to protest or land in slavery of either form for bread and butter only. So we covered it as the cover story. Hope you will like the story.
