The Essence of the Holy Qur’an
Follow and do not follow
Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.
(Surah No.07, Al-Aaraf, Verse No.03)
The central theme of this verse:
Dear readers, the central theme of this verse is the guidance which man needs in order to live a wholesome life, knowledge which he requires in order to understand the reality of the universe and his own being and the purpose of his existence; the principles which he needs to serve as the basis for morality and social life as well as culture and civilization.
In this regard man should look to Allah alone and follow exclusively the guidance which Allah has communicated to mankind through His messenger. To look to anyone other than Allah is dangerous for it has always spelled disaster in the past, and will always spell disaster in the future.
Follow the supreme charter of guidance:
The nature of man is to follow someone. If he does not follow any human being he will follow his own lowly desire. So the best way which has excellent consequences is to follow the supreme charter of guidance given by Allah, Who loves mankind, because He has created them. He is the greatest lover of mankind because he gives them bread and all kinds of provisions.
Follow the path of torch bearer of Divine revelation:
We should follow the Holy Prophet (pbuh) the real friend of mankind who is the torch bearer of Divine revelation. He is the real liberator of mankind, the real lover of mankind and who is on the right path of the Divine revelation. If we do not follow Allah’s Book and as well as the Holy Prophet (pbuh) it will mean that we are not upon the true path, and we do not receive lesson from the destruction of those nations who were annihilated by the punishment of Allah because they followed the satan-comrades and denounced the Prophets bearing the Divine Light and Divine guidance.
