Hadiths validate Muslim’s rights to al-Aqsa Mosque
In the sayings of Prophet (PBUH) we get the indication that rights to Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslim are enshrined. As in a hadith narrated by Maymunah ibn Sa’d said: Apostle of Allah, tell us the legal injunction about (visiting) Bayt al-Muqaddas (the dome of the Rock at Jerusalem). The Apostle of Allah (PBUH) said: go and pray there. All the cities at that time were affected by war. If you cannot visit it and pray there, then send some oil to be used in the lamps. In another hadith narrated Abdur Rahman Ibn Awf the Prophet (PBUH) said: By Him Who sent Muhammad with truth, if you prayed here, this would be sufficient for you like the prayer in Jerusalem. In another hadith narrated by Mu’adh Ibn Jabal the Prophet (PBUH) said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting.
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:
A man stood on the day of Conquest (of Mecca) and said: Apostle of Allah, I have vowed to Allah that if He grants conquest of Mecca at your hands, I shall pray two rak’ahs in Jerusalem.
He replied: Pray here.
He repeated (his statement) to him and he said: Pray here.
He again repeated (his statement) to him.
He (the Prophet) replied: Pursue your own course, then.
Abu Huraira narrated that Prophet (PBUH) said, “Do not set out on a journey except for three Mosques i.e. Al-Masjid-AI-Haram, the Mosque of Allah’s Apostle , and the Mosque of Al-Aqsa, (Mosque of Jerusalem).”
The aforesaid sayings of Prophet (SM) detail the rights of Muslims on the Mosque of Jerusalem which Israel has kept besieged for long 63 years, hurting not only the pious Palestinians but also the Muslims of the Diaspora.
